Job Description

Reporting to the auction General Manager, GSM is the leader responsible for the execution of the overall sales strategy at the individual auction location. The GSM must build and lead the sales team with the sole purpose of achieving all sales and performance objectives at the individual auction location by creating an environment that drives efficient sales and operational excellence. The GSM is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with all customers including individual dealers, dealer groups, rental companies, institutional sellers as well as factory accounts. The GSM is responsible for defining the sales plan with the Auction GM and Regional Managers and setting the plan in motion to insure achievement of all sales objectives.

As an ADESA General Sales Manager, you will lead and develop a high-performing sales team to achieve and exceed expectations. Our General Sales Managers possess a strong understanding of sales process, metrics, and compensation. GSM professionals who communicate effectively and understand the relevance of establishing and maintaining relationships will thrive in this position.

Experiences

  • High School or GED required
  • College education preferred
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience
  • Five to Seven years of general sales experience
  • Successful previous experience as a sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possesses a valid driver’s license
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • Auction experience preferred
  • CRM experience preferred
